Aya Hussein

Dr. Aya Hussein is a Lecturer in AI and Machine Learning at the University of Canberra. She is an Associate Editor for IEEE Transactions on AI, a member of the GenAI TaskForce at the University of Canberra, an organiser of a few research events at flagship conferences on AI and robotics, and a reviewer for 20 journals and conferences.

She is also an Associate Fellow of the Higher Education Academy. Aya worked as a postdoctoral fellow at UNSW, an associate lecturer at Cairo University, and a research assistant at Microsoft Research. She received multiple research grants and scholarships and has authored 30 research articles. Her current research focuses on human-AI interaction, multi-agent systems, swarm robotics, and curriculum learning.
